A F#m G D A
I see in your face - You are strong
I see in your eyes - love and sorrow
Hardship - has made you kind
Patiently you wait
Bm C
As the world goes by you –
Bm Am
The world goes by
D - A - D - A
At a distance - so far away
D A F#m
The rain comes down - the roof sings
D A F#m
A familiar song - a cooling theme
Em F#m E F#m
the hot air goes down, down, down, down, down to the ground -
G
to the ground
A
relief for the moment - take in the sound
A F#m G D
Your hope grows dim at times
The children, though, they make you laugh,
they remind you of life and something new
Something new outside of this
Bm G
one room
Bm G
This one room
Em D
Privacy is something you don't know
F#m G
The only solitude is inside of you

What must be done

A familiar song - a cooling theme
Em F#m E F#m

Payday Payday
what have you got
Lay it on the table
and give it a shot.
Signed and sealed,
licenced and tracked.
Revolution's coming
when this code get's cracked.
Rising, rising,
profits again.
Do you have a notion,
do you have a plan.
Storm is coming
but you don't care;
shelter in your mansion,
and up the stairs.
Laying down,
this town,
ain't big enough for two of us,
come down,
this town,
small enough for 99 of us.
Payday payday
where do you live,
what have you got
that you can give.
Comfort, comfort
Comfort your soul,
how much you own -
you can never take it all.
Run baby run,
the helicopter is here.
Rescue at hand,
the doctor is near,
The tattoo parlor
Just says it all.
you can save your wallet,
but you won't save your soul.
Laying down,
this town,
ain't big enough for two of us,
come down,
this town,
small enough for 99 of us.
Laying down,
this town,
ain't big enough for two of us,
come down,
this town,
small enough for 99 of us.

What can I do I got no skills
Can I work in your steel mill?
Break my back to pay my bills
Eat food that’s got no flavor
Where can we go, I ain't got money.
Maybe Miami or somewhere sunny
Please don’t cry my unhappy honey
Your tears are just like the rain
Fallin’ on my idle hands
Filling up the empty sky
Drownin’ all our hopes and dreams again
Highwater’s here, startin’ to rise, highwater’s here
Feel like jumpin’ on a bed of nails
Sleepin’ in the rain and hail
Wishin’ for an ox’s tail
And a place to rest my bones
People huddled all together
Fixin’ to die It’s god’s will
Seekin’ shelter from the weather
Then we’re heading back out to the hills
Don’t be long I’ll be right here
Waitin’ on your return
In the morning we’ll be off
At the break of dawn
Highwater’s here, startin’ to rise, highwater’s here
Have you seen her sir she’s very pretty?
I’ve been walkin’ the streets of this corporate town
Callin’ her name in a soulless city
Have you her here sir, is she lookin’ around?
“It fits the temper of a woman’s way”
“If you can’t go, then she can’t stay.”
He spoke to me as he looked away
Then he wandered off into the night
Highwater’s here, startin’ to rise, highwater’s here (ya don’t know my mind!)

GYPSY GIRL.
IN THE LIGHTS OF THEIR CAMP FIRES,
FROM THE SHADOWS DANCED A DREAM.
OLIVE SKINNED AND RAVEN HAIRED,
HER EYES SPARKLED IN THE NIGHT.
HER EYES LIKE STARS, THEY SHINED SO BRIGHT.
HER BUSSOM HEAVED, HER HIPS DID SWAY,
HER BEAUTY IT WAS EQUALLED BY NONE,
SHE WOULD LEAVE TRAVELLING MEN BEGUILED.
SOME WOULD ARGUE, AND SOME WOULD SMILE,
MEN WOULD OFTEN FIGHT.
SO RARE WAS HER BEAUTY,
MEN PAID WELL TO WATCH HER DANCE.
EVERY NIGHT HER FATHER, PLAYED THOSE TUNES.
AND THE YOUNG GIRL AGAIN WAS FORCED TO DANCE.
DANCE AFTER DANCE, SHE WOULD TWIST AND TWIRL
SHACK HER BUSSOM AND GENTLY SWAY HER HIPS.
FOR THE GOLD COINS THE MEN GAVE HER.
TO EACH OF THEM SHE GAVE,A TINY LITTLE KISS.
WHEN AT LAST THE DANCE WAS OVER,
AND THE TIME IT CAME TO REST.
HER FATHER TOOK FROM HER ALLTHOSE GOLD COINS.
AND LOCKED THEM SECURELY IN HIS CHEST.
BUT ONE NIGHT ALL THIS IT DID CHANGE.
HER WEALTHY MAN, HE CAME AND FREED
HER FROM HER PLIGHT.
HE BOUGHT THE GIRL FROM HER FATHER.
AND HER LIFE, FROM THAT NIGHT FOREVER CHANGED
NOW SHE LAYS IN HER BOUDOIR,
AND ONLY DANCES NOW FOR FUN
pause
SO IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS NOW
YOU,LL FIND THAT GYPSY GIRLS NOW GONE.

Home is
Home is the place
where the journey starts
and the journey ends
Sitting at the table
with a friend
making plans,
for the next escape.
Home (take me there)
Home (anywhere)
home is the door
through which you walk
looking for more
there is always one
for the road,
for the thought
of going on.
there is a hole in my pocket
where my key fell through
Home is the place
where we could rest
if we didn't always
suffer from this wanderlust
Busy as a busy bee can be
cause there ain't no place
like a house in the tree
home
